spacerThroughout the year the Coalition is involved in many activities within the Redfield School such as Red Ribbon Week, safe driving campaign, SADD meetings and events. The Coalition is also engaged in our communities by providing information at local events, co-sponsoring the annual Wellness Fair at SDDC, coordinating Techniques in Alcohol Management classes as well as assisting city leaders to review the alcohol licensing policies and the Sheriff with alcohol compliance checks.

2020 Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA)

Community of Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) Forum in Washington, DC February 2-5, 2020. CADCA’s 30th Annual National Leadership Forum was the largest training event in CADCA’s history with more than 3,300 attendees. The event brought together a record number of change agents, working together on strategies to help transform communities.

2020 Silo:Feeding the World Comes at a Cost

Silo: Feeding the World Comes at a Cost movie was hosted by the Doland FFA Chapter and the Spink Area Support Network at the Doland School on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. Silo is a film about tragedy that strikes small town USA and what we can do to prevent it from happening in rural communities. About 60 people attended the screening.

CORE Prevention Day 2020

spacerCORE Prevention Day was held Wednesday, October 14 at the Redfield Public School for students in 6th-12th grades. Eddie Slowikowski from Chicago was back with us this year as well as Cara Filler, from Washington, who told the story of her twin sister's death from a high-speed driving crash. Rick Birt, National SADD CEO was also in attendance and spoke to SADD students at an event the evening before CORE Day. Other presenters were Rick & Beret Ohm from Fallout Shelter ministries who did a workshop on self-defense and sex trafficking. The Coalition is thankful for the partnership of the Redfield Public School to put on this event!

Quit Smoking Kits

Students put together 50 Quit Kits for the Great American Smokeout Awareness Campaign. These kits included hard candy and gum, bendy sticks and squeeze balls to keep hands busy, piggy banks to put savings in from not smoking/chewing, and lots of support info to help people quit.
