August 2023 - Back to School Bash

In August of 2023 the Spink County Coalition and The SADD chapter sponsored a Back to School Bash at the Pheasant City Drive in. We invited current SADD members as well as community members to play games, eat pizza and watch The Sandlot.

Pride Day 2023

Pride day takes place during homecoming week. On that day students perform community service and paint windows of community businesses to show support for The Pheasants football team. SADD students painted windows.

Red Ribbon Week

October 23rd - 31st is Red Ribbon Week and it highlights the importance of living a drug-free life. It presents an opportunity for parents, educators, and communities to reinforce the drug-free messages they share with their children throughout the year. During Red Ribbon Week, youth and adults around the nation pledge to increase their knowledge by learning more about the destructive effects of drug abuse, including prescription drug misuse, and renew their commitment to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. During this week SADD students hid mini Red Ribbons around the school and encouraged other students to find them. Students who found them returned them to the SADD office and got a prize. There was also a resource table set up the main hallway with pamphlets for students to look at. We also sponsored a coloring contest with the elementary school.

2023 SADD Halloween Party

To celebrate Halloween SADD students sold Halloween suckers (not pictured). There were also some students that went to the Haunted Forest in Aberdeen. We also held a Halloween party.

Kindness Week

October is bullying prevention month. Rather than focusing specifically on bullying during that month we decided to take a broader approach and focus on being kind to each other. Students wrote positive messages to their peers on post it notes and hung them in the hallways for students to read as they walked by.

SADD Christmas Party

With December came the annual SADD Christmas party. The food was potluck style; each student brought a dish to contribute, there was a lot of great food. We decorated cookies, played games and bingo. There was also a fun white elephant gift exchange. Fun times were had by all!

2024 SADD NYE Party

To ring in the New Year the SADD students took a field trip to the Village Bowl in Aberdeen. They munched on walking tacos and cookies, played games and ended the party with some cosmic bowling!
